Proposed list of data elements required for Cave Survey Data in XML, v0.1

Released on 18 December, 2000
Derived from the preliminary analysis matrix , the following items are submitted as necessary elements in an interchangeable XML format for cave survey data. Following this submission a second list conveys additional recommended data elements. Comments or questions regarding these proposals should be emailed to devinkouts@yahoo.com

In addition to those fundamental elements described above, there are a few additional elements that add significant value to XML formatted cave survey data.
<DataFileVersion> (identifies the XML Cave Survey format used in a given file)
<GeoLocation> (coordinates for stations within survey, e.g. entrances)
<Datum> (map datum in which GeoLocations were collected)
